Taiwanese drone manufacturer Thunder Tiger stated on August 14, 2026, that the US government's tariff increase on imported drones is overall neutral to positive for the company. Thunder Tiger noted that while Taiwanese products face tariffs of approximately 15 percent, increasing short-term export costs, products from high-sensitivity countries such as China face tariffs ranging from 25 to 100 percent, which significantly narrows the cost gap between Taiwanese and Chinese supply chains.

Thunder Tiger added that its existing manufacturing facilities in California and Ohio will play a key role in advancing US-made drones to compete for US Department of Defense orders and tenders. Furthermore, the company welcomed the passage of Taiwan's NT$63.4 billion procurement budget for drones, stating that the decision will secure clear and stable market demand for Taiwan's drone industry over the next six years.
