Volatus Aerospace said on August 4, 2026 that it will work with Singular Aircraft to bring the FlyOx 1 multi‑mission heavy‑lift autonomous platform to Canada to reinforce wildfire response.
The FlyOx 1 has a maximum take‑off weight of about 4,000 kilograms and can carry 1,560 liters of water or fire retardant, with long endurance, potential amphibious operation and the ability to operate from unprepared airstrips.
Under the agreement the partners will evaluate manufacturing in Canada, systems integration, operational deployment and long‑term in‑country support, and Volatus has already started engaging governments, regulators and wildfire management organizations on operational requirements and certification pathways.
Volatus CEO Glen Lynch stated the aim is not to replace Canada’s existing aerial firefighting fleet but to strengthen it with a new class of autonomous aircraft that can detect earlier, respond faster and give governments additional operational options.
