Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration announced on August 3 that international passenger fuel surcharges for domestic airlines will be adjusted upwards starting August 9, 2026, in response to recent increases in jet fuel prices.
According to the jet fuel prices announced by CPC Corporation, international aviation fuel rose from $133.29 to $147.57 per barrel, moving the pricing tier from level 11 to level 12. Consequently, short-haul fuel surcharges on international routes will increase from $27.50 to $30, while long-haul surcharges will rise from $71.50 to $78.
The CAA stated that it has requested airlines to clearly disclose relevant background details, such as the proportion of fuel costs relative to total operational expenses, to ensure consumer transparency.
