The 2026 Farnborough International Airshow has officially concluded after a record-breaking week, generating more than $84.7 billion in commercial business and securing 353 firm commercial aircraft orders. According to the organizers, Farnborough International, the five-day exhibition highlighted the resilience and growth of the global aerospace sector by bringing together key industry players, defense firms, space representatives, government officials, investors, and academic institutions to showcase new technology and announce major commercial deals.
The event recorded a significant surge in attendance, welcoming 141,580 trade and public visitors from 136 countries. This overall attendance total represents a substantial 41% increase compared to the previous edition of the airshow, and is nearly double the visitor numbers recorded during the 2022 event, demonstrating a strong international interest and recovery in global aerospace activities.
Commercial announcements dominated the show, featuring major aircraft and engine deals from prominent global manufacturers. Among the leading participating companies making significant announcements during the week were Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, LEAP, and Pratt & Whitney. The event continues to serve as an essential venue for manufacturers and suppliers to secure new agreements and strengthen relationships with airline customers and leasing companies.
Innovation in advanced air mobility provided one of the standout moments during the exhibition, featuring the first public electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) demonstration flight by Vertical Aerospace. The flying display showcased a transition from helicopter mode to fixed-wing flight before returning to vertical flight. Finally, organizers confirmed that the next edition of the Farnborough International Airshow is scheduled to take place from July 17 to 21, 2028, at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
