Boeing has rounded off certification flight tests for the smallest and largest members of the 737 MAX family, the 737-7 and 737-10. The milestone was confirmed in the company's second-quarter earnings release on July 28, which stated that testing had been completed as of July and that Boeing continues to anticipate certification in 2026 and first delivery in 2027 for both variants.
AeroTime reported on July 29 that Boeing had completed planned certification flight tests of the two jets, noting the 737-7 and 737-10 are the last of the MAX family awaiting certification.
During the second quarter, Boeing Commercial Airplanes delivered 171 aircraft and booked 246 net orders, including business from Korean Air, Delta Air Lines and SMBC Capital. The total company backlog reached a record US$715 billion by quarter-end, including more than 6,200 commercial airplanes.
