加拿大西捷航空於2026年8月18日發布更新，證實所有先前採用180座高密度配置的波音737-8 MAX與737-800已全數改回174座佈局，並完成內飾刷新及WestJet WiFi presented by TELUS等增強設施。航空公司聲明指出：「All previously affected aircraft are now flying with 174 seats, a refreshed interior and enhanced amenities, including WestJet WiFi presented by TELUS」。
改裝工程原預計延續至2026年秋季，但實際於2026年6月中完成，較原定進度大幅提前。報導說明：「Instead, the airline now says it finished restoring legroom by mid-June。」這標誌著西捷在2025年9月啟動的艙內大修實驗正式畫下句點。
實驗期間，經濟艙後段第20至31排座距僅28吋，第15至19排為29吋，引發旅客與機組強烈反彈，影片於2025年底至2026年初在網路廣傳。西捷曾辯稱額外一排有助維持低票價，但在12月暫停後續安裝，並於2026年1月16日宣佈移除一排、恢復標準座距。
西捷集團執行長Alexis von Hoensbroech當時表示：「WestJet tried seat pitches that are popular with many airlines around the globe as they serve to provide affordable airfares… it’s in our DNA to try new products. At the same time, it is just as important to react quickly if they don’t meet the needs of our guests.」。此言論顯示航空公司願意快速修正不受歡迎的產品。
完成改裝後，受影響機型經濟艙座距統一為30吋，較先前28吋、29吋、30吋混合配置增加約7%個人空間。報導指出：「The revised aircraft have a uniform 30” seat pitch in standard Economy, rather than the previous mix of 28”, 29”, and 30”.」這項變更預期將改善乘客舒適度並平息先前爭議。
