Portuguese drone maker Beyond Vision has closed a €28 million Series A funding round, led by Lisbon-based venture firms Índico Capital Partners and Lince Capital, with existing shareholder ActiveCap also taking part. The company develops dual-use drones and AI-driven systems for remote operation and swarm operations.
The funding will be used to accelerate growth, notably by doubling the size of its production facility at Alverca do Ribatejo, near Lisbon, with a target of producing 500 to 800 drones per month. The company also plans to further develop its cloud-based remote drone operation platform, beXStream, and its swarm coordination technology, and has recently entered the naval drone market.
Founded in 2013, Beyond Vision has become a significant company in Portugal's aerospace industry. The Portuguese Armed Forces were among its early customers, although most of its output is now exported, and the company plans to expand its presence in the United States, where its emergency-response drones have drawn interest from local companies. Its drones have also been used in Ukraine, where the war highlighted the importance of drones of all kinds on the modern battlefield.
