Starlux Airlines inaugurated its Taichung–Nagoya route today, operating four weekly flights initially and increasing to a daily service from November, bringing the carrier’s Taichung departures to 66 weekly flights.

The inaugural ceremony took place at Chubu Centrair International Airport, jointly hosted by Starlux Japan General Manager Wang Yun‑xiang, Chubu Airport Vice President Ishizawa Tatsuhiko, Aichi Prefectural Urban Transport Bureau Director Tada Ryusuke, and Nagoya City General Affairs Bureau Director Tachi Yu‑so.

Wang Yun‑xiang described Nagoya as the largest city in central Japan, a key transport hub and gateway for tourists to explore the region, linking attractions such as Takayama, Shirakawa‑go, Kamikochi and Kanazawa.

Starlux noted that since launching the Taipei–Nagoya route in December 2023 it has continuously strengthened the Taiwan‑central Japan network, and the new Taichung service will further promote cultural, economic and tourism exchanges between central Taiwan and central Japan.

According to the airline’s fleet plan disclosed earlier, the fleet is expected to reach 42 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 48 by the end of 2027; four aircraft are slated for delivery in November‑December 2026 — one A350‑1000, one A330‑900 and two A321neo — with an additional six aircraft, four A321neo and two A350‑1000, to arrive by the end of 2027.
