Horizon Aircraft CEO Brandon Robinson stated at the Farnborough Airshow that the company expects to complete a full-scale Cavorite X7 within the next six to nine months, following the completion of a half-scale model.
Horizon Aircraft announced that Australia-based startup V Star Powered Lift Aviation has placed an order for up to five Cavorite X7 hybrid electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, with an option for 95 more in the future.
The Cavorite X7 takes off like a helicopter using 12 electrically powered lift fans in its wing, then covers the fans and flies like a plane using a gas-turbine engine, according to Horizon.
