Keelung mayoral candidate 童子瑋 proposed a two-line concept for the second phase of the Keelung Metro in an interview. It combines a city-area rail and metro interchange with an Anle line extending directly to 大武崙. Under the proposal, the urban route would use the existing Taiwan Railways corridor, bringing metro service in through elevated or underground construction while allowing both systems to operate.
童子瑋 also proposed extending the Anle line to 大武崙 and connecting it with industrial parks. He said large-scale tunnel excavation could be difficult to build, with construction time and engineering risks harder to manage. He proposed assessing elevated, underground and temporary-track construction methods while maintaining existing railway functions.
