The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed a $77,750 civil penalty against TiendaMIA Xipron, Inc., of Medley, Florida, for allegedly violating U.S. Department of Transportation hazardous materials regulations.
The agency alleges that in November 2024 TiendaMIA offered a freight broker an undeclared shipment containing EcoFlow River 2 portable power stations with 256‑watt‑hour lithium‑ion batteries, which are classified as hazardous material. The broker forwarded the shipment to Avianca Cargo Air for air transport.
The FAA says the shipment lacked required hazardous materials documentation and was not properly classed, described, packaged, marked, labeled, or conditioned for shipment. TiendaMIA also failed to provide emergency response information and to train employees who prepare hazmat shipments. The company has 30 days to respond.
