General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) unveiled its new Wildfire uncrewed aircraft on September 10, 2026. The company has proposed the design for the Massed Modular Aircraft (MMA) competition, which is run by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and the US Air Force (USAF). It is positioned as a lower-cost, loss-tolerant alternative to the MQ-9A Reaper.

The MMA program seeks an aircraft with a payload of at least 1,270 kilograms (2,800 pounds) and a self-deployment range of at least 14,800 kilometers (8,000 nautical miles). GA-ASI claims Wildfire meets or exceeds these targets, offering a ferry range beyond 14,800 kilometers and the ability to carry heavy munitions like the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile.
