STARLUX Airlines officially launched its first direct European route in the early morning of August 1, operating passenger service between Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) in the Czech Republic. The launch of this route marks the expansion of STARLUX's network from Asia and North America into Central Europe. Serving as a key milestone, the inaugural flight was personally piloted by STARLUX Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei. STARLUX operates the route using Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft, a model known for long-haul flight efficiency, cabin comfort, and a quieter cabin environment.
Simple Flying reports that United Airlines has stated it has "no interest" in purchasing up to 20 pre-built 777X aircraft originally destined for Emirates. The airline has ruled out taking possession of these aircraft but left room for other carriers to step in.
