Stratolaunch announced on September 30, 2026 that it had acquired a Boeing 777-200ER to support its reusable, autonomous Talon-A hypersonic test vehicles.
The aircraft will complement Roc and Spirit of Mojave. Stratolaunch forecasts a 35% increase in overall flight capacity, with greater global deployment flexibility and support for parallel missions. That figure is a company projection.
Modifications for fuselage air-launch operations are expected to finish in 2027. Acquisition does not mean the 777 is already equipped to launch Talon-A or conducting hypersonic test missions.
