Malaysia Aviation Group and Airbus have signed a share purchase agreement under which MAG will acquire Airbus-owned Sepang Aircraft Engineering. Closing remains subject to conditions and regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.
MAG describes the acquisition as part of its Long-Term Business Plan 3.0, and the parties are targeting completion in 2027. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), SAE has Airbus A320-family maintenance expertise as well as a dedicated paint hangar and component-repair facilities. MAG says those capabilities will be integrated into its engineering and maintenance strategy.
