Boeing announced on October 1, 2026 that it had received the U.S. Air Force's first full-rate production award for four MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters. The award follows the service's declaration of initial operational capability for the program earlier in 2026.
Boeing said the order raises the total number of MH-139As under contract to 42 and that 27 aircraft have been delivered. The announcement did not disclose the contract value or delivery schedule for the four additional helicopters.
The MH-139A is intended for missions that include security support around U.S. strategic missile fields. The full-rate production award allows production and fielding to expand, while the four newly ordered aircraft remain subject to manufacturing and acceptance before delivery.
