Taipei Mayor 蔣萬安 urged the central government to begin the Songshan Airport relocation process while reporting to the Taipei City Council on the plan and other matters. He said the relocation concerns Taipei and Taiwan’s development over the coming decades, and called for efforts to address obstacles and pursue the goal.

For the site after a possible relocation, 蔣萬安 described a concept for a 110-hectare park envisioned as a Taipei Central Park. The proposed park would have six zones: central grassland, an ecological stream area, sports and recreation, a management center and historical memorial area, a forest belt, and an urban farm.
