A French military aircraft crashed near Nancy in northeastern France late on October 20, 2026. Henry Lemoine, mayor of Pont-à-Mousson, said the aircraft went down at approximately 23:35 local time in an area between Rogéville, Domèvre-en-Haye and Tremblecourt. The crash prompted a major overnight search operation.
Lemoine said debris had been spotted by a drone and substantial firefighting and gendarmerie resources had been deployed. Le Parisien reported at least one fatality on the morning of October 21, but military authorities had not officially confirmed casualties. The aircraft type, unit and number of people aboard had not been officially confirmed.
