CNA reported that Defense Minister 顧立雄 said the drone defense system (UDS) at Taichung Airport has completed acceptance. He said it should be able to perform its functions before the end of October. 顧立雄 also said configuration changes to include the 5.17 GHz band in the system's jamming frequencies began this year.
顧立雄 said the UDS can interfere with Type 1 and Type 2 drones after reinspection is complete and installation at the air force bases is completed. The report also noted that drone activity at Taichung Ching Chuan Kang Airport on September 8 led to fighter and civil aircraft temporarily stopping takeoffs and landings. Operations resumed at 8:02 p.m.; the disruption affected two civil-flight movements and eight military-aircraft movements.
