Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration said the 2026 International Flight Safety Management Summit opened, bringing together about 200 experts and senior executives.

The administration said the summit expands international exchange and is being held over two consecutive days for the first time.

According to the administration, participants include former ICAO expert Mr. Simon ROBERTS, IATA senior executive Mr. Stuart FOX, Flight Safety Foundation Capt. Jose FERNANDEZ, Singapore Airlines Capt. Eugene C. ANTONI, All Nippon Airways Capt. Max MATSUMOTO and Boeing's Mr. Erik LANGHOFER, along with domestic foundations, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board, national carriers and maintenance organisations.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Kuo-hsien told the aviation community that "everyone is a leader and owner of flight safety."

Civil Aeronautics Administration Director-General Ho Shu-ping said she hopes the industry will further improve flight safety in three areas: deepening risk management, deepening safety culture, and cross-organisation cooperation to raise resilience.
