華信航空 chairman 陳大鈞 said there is a rational case for raising domestic fares, while government support for the public is another consideration. Domestic airfares have not increased for more than 20 years. General manager 莊明哲 proposed decoupling cargo pricing and setting a total limit on discounted senior tickets.
莊明哲 cited a domestic cargo price of NT$18 to 金門, compared with NT$100 for international cargo over the same distance. 華信航空 submitted its cargo-pricing proposal to 民航局 in the first quarter of this year, and it remains under review. The proposed limit on discounted senior tickets remains under internal discussion.
