Romania published footage on Sunday showing its F-16 fighter jets shooting down two suspected Russian Geran-4 drones over its territorial waters. Romanian Defence Minister Radu Miruta was quoted as saying this was the first time Romania had shot down drones of this kind.
Reuters reported that Miruta said the drones from the previous night were flying at 450 km/h, leading him to think they were Russian-made Geran-4s with turbojet engines. The report describes Geran as the Russian name for Shahed-type one-way attack drones originally supplied by Iran.
