Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft for another month, with restrictions set to remain in place until November 24, 2026. Pakistan Airports Authority issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), extending the restriction beyond its previous expiry date of October 24, 2026.
The ban applies to Indian-registered aircraft and aircraft owned, operated or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military flights. It covers the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions. Depending on their destination, flights take longer routes around Pakistan, often via the Arabian Sea and Iranian airspace; the longer routes increase fuel burn and operating costs.
