The Transportation Security Administration has abruptly halted a gate-access expansion covering airports across the United States.

According to Simple Flying, the expansion, known as Gateside, had been planned for 301 additional airports and has now been stopped.

The report states that travelers are left with fewer gate-access options as a result of the halt.

The available material is limited to the Simple Flying report summary; it does not include a TSA statement, the reason for the halt or an effective date.
