The Indian government has committed INR1,510 million ($16 million) in debt financing to ideaForge Technology to advance development of YETI. The funding will support an INR3,020 million programme. The government said the project aims to advance YETI from Technology Readiness Level 4 to Level 9, moving from laboratory-validated technology toward a system proven in operational conditions.
YETI is being developed as an autonomous aircraft to carry supplies to remote military positions and other difficult-to-reach locations. Its design combines vertical take-off and landing with fixed-wing flight. The stated targets include a payload of up to 200 kg and a range of 200 km. The report notes that these remain development objectives, rather than capabilities confirmed through completed operational testing.
