Airbus says decisions on the A220 and A350 stretch projects should come before 2030. At media briefings in Toulouse on October 14, commercial aircraft chief executive Lars Wagner indicated that decisions would depend on viable business cases and board approval.
For the A220, Airbus Europe president Johan Pelissier told Aviation Week that production ramp-up of existing variants comes ahead of a stretch decision. Airbus is targeting 13 A220s a month by 2028. Airbus widebody chief Julien Puyou said this week that a decision on an A350 stretch would not come in 2026.
