SITA, the Geneva-based air transport IT provider, announced on October 15, 2026 that it has agreed to acquire Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions, the airport technology business of RTX's Collins Aerospace.
SITA said the deal is expected to close during the first half of 2027, subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Collins Aerospace Airport Solutions provides technology that moves passengers and their bags through airport terminals. Its products cover check-in and self-service kiosks, bag drop and the operational systems airports rely on to keep running.
SITA said combining the two businesses will strengthen its support for customers and improve passenger processing, baggage handling and wider airport operations.
SITA CEO David Lavorel said rising passenger numbers and expectations mean the industry needs technology and people working together across every stage of the journey, so that disruptions can be prevented or resolved quickly. He said the acquisition would expand SITA's offerings and reinforce its role as a technology partner to its customers.
Nathalie Altwegg, SITA's Senior Vice President for Airports, said airports want a provider that understands their operations, works closely with their teams and is available when support is needed. She said the acquisition would allow SITA to offer that to more customers.
