China Airlines said its Easy Travel membership program has added a points-reward mechanism. Members can earn Easy Travel points after completing a carbon offset through Eco Travel. When points accumulated with other challenge activities reach eight, members can receive ticket-purchase offers.
China Airlines described Eco Travel as a voluntary passenger carbon-offset service developed with UK-based Climate Impact Partners. Travelers can offset emissions generated by a trip according to their individual needs. Members can also earn points for specified green actions on China Airlines- or Mandarin Airlines-operated international flights, including online check-in, reducing checked baggage weight, and selecting meals online in business or premium economy class.
