Airbus commercial aircraft chief Lars Wagner said on October 14, 2026, that the company expects to decide soon whether to expand A350 production capacity. Speaking at a briefing in Toulouse, France, Wagner said the investment would require board approval. Airlines are seeking more long-haul aircraft, the report said.
Airbus’s existing A350 assembly line was designed to produce 12 to 13 aircraft a month. Wagner said going beyond that rate would require another line and additional manufacturing capacity. The company already aims to build 12 A350s a month in 2028, a target it reaffirmed in its July 2026 financial results.
