Cirium has cut its forecast for new aircraft deliveries over the next 20 years. Its annual Fleet Forecast projects 43,000 aircraft deliveries over a two-decade period. The forecast for new passenger and freighter jets and turboprops worldwide between 2026 and 2045 is around 8% below Cirium’s 2025 forecast of 46,500 aircraft.

Cirium’s forecast says demand is likely to continue outstripping supply throughout the 2020s. It projects that the global passenger fleet will reach just over 50,000 aircraft by 2045. China, India and the wider Asia-Pacific region together account for approximately 48% of the modelled passenger fleet, while single-aisle aircraft account for 76% of the forecast passenger fleet.
