King Khalid International Airport is to remain closed until 21:00 UTC on Saturday, 17 October, under a new Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) published on 12 October. Notice A3604/26 says the airport is unavailable due to precautionary measures. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has yet to announce a reopening date. The report says the notice’s expiry does not mean flights will automatically resume.

The closure affects nearly 700 flights a day, according to the report. Cirium data showed that 99.7% of scheduled departures from King Khalid International Airport failed to operate on Sunday.
