Aircraft lessor Avolon says it has placed orders for 250 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. The announced breakdown is 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and 110 Airbus jets, including 75 A320neo family aircraft and 35 A330neo family aircraft.
The orders remain subject to approval by Bohai Leasing, which holds a 70% shareholding in Avolon, according to the report. Avolon has also secured options for 100 additional Airbus aircraft. The source describes those aircraft as options, separate from the 250 orders, and does not say they have become firm orders.
