Starlux Airlines announced today that its Taipei-Kuala Lumpur route will increase to a daily service from today, operated with an A330neo, according to Central News Agency (CNA).

Targeting the transit passenger market, Starlux said the route's travel demand is strong, and the aircraft type is being changed from the A321neo to the A330neo.

Starlux chief executive officer Chai Chien-Hwa said the increase in frequency and the larger aircraft type will offer passengers more convenient and comfortable flight services, and added that passengers from Kuala Lumpur can further connect via Taipei to five North American cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Ontario, Seattle and Phoenix.

The report noted that Kuala Lumpur is an important business, tourism and transportation hub in Southeast Asia, also serving as a gateway for travelers to explore other cities and surrounding attractions in Malaysia. Starlux said meals served on board routes from Kuala Lumpur incorporate local flavors such as nasi lemak and Nyonya cuisine.
