Delta Air Lines has launched an investigation after two separate flights experienced cabin fume emergencies within a 48-hour period, according to a report by Simple Flying. The back-to-back inflight incidents required prompt operational emergency responses from the respective flight crews on board.
During the occurrences, one of the affected Delta flights was forced to execute an inflight diversion to another airport. Meanwhile, the second flight requested and completed a priority landing following the detection of cabin fumes.
Delta Air Lines is continuing to investigate both inflight incidents to determine what caused the cabin fume conditions. Further information regarding the root cause remains under technical assessment by the carrier.
