UK start-up Global Airlines is facing a new winding-up petition filed by creditor Jessica Huffman Reese on May 29, 2026. Official records show the creditor is represented by US law firm Vedder Price, with hearings listed for July 15 and September 2, 2026. The claimed amount and hearing outcomes remain undisclosed.
The carrier faced a similar petition in 2025 that was later withdrawn. A winding-up petition is a legal procedure seeking company liquidation, but does not prove insolvency. Meanwhile, Global Airlines' sole Airbus A380 (9H-GLOBL) has been grounded in Tarbes, France, since last summer.
Chief executive James Asquith outlined goals in June to return the A380 to service before late 2026 and evaluate routes including the Maldives. The carrier operated limited charter flights between Glasgow and New York (JFK) in May 2025 via a wet-lease arrangement with Hi Fly Malta.
