China Airlines has notified freight forwarders that it will increase fuel surcharges on export cargo from Taiwan starting September 16, 2026, to reflect fluctuations in global oil prices. Except for basic rate cargo, all exported goods will be subject to the fuel surcharge based on chargeable weight.

Under the adjustment, fuel surcharges for Zone 1 and Zone 2 long-haul routes to Europe and America will rise by NT$4 to NT$62 per kilogram, an increase of about 6.9 percent. Surcharges for Zone 3 short-haul Asian routes will rise by NT$1 to NT$21 per kilogram, an increase of about 5 percent. China Airlines previously raised long-haul surcharges to NT$58 and short-haul to NT$20 in early September.
