The ongoing eruption of Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano caused volcanic ash detection at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, leading to a temporary suspension of flights and extended closure of the main facility.
In response to the volcanic activity, China Airlines canceled its CI761 and CI762 flights between Taoyuan and Jakarta on September 7. To accommodate affected passengers, the carrier plans to operate larger aircraft for its CI763 and CI764 services between Taoyuan and Jakarta on September 8.
EVA Air also canceled its flights BR238D, BR237D, BR238, and BR237 operating between Jakarta and Taipei on September 7. Additionally, STARLUX Airlines announced that some of its flights may experience adjustments due to the volcanic eruption.
