Kenya Airways Acting CEO George Kamal has announced his resignation and will remain until 30 September 2026. The airline also faces strikes at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO).
Habil Waswani will become Acting Group Managing Director and CEO from 15 September, succeeding Kamal after a 15-day transition.
The carrier reported a net loss of KSH 16.08 billion for the first half of 2026, despite a 9% revenue increase to KSH 81.25 billion.
Jet fuel prices surged 66% in the period, driven by Middle East tensions, while supply‑chain constraints reduced aircraft availability.
