According to an aviation news report by Simple Flying, a judge has rejected Russia's legal bid to reclaim an Antonov An-124 cargo jet that was seized and remains stranded in Toronto. The massive cargo aircraft belongs to Volga-Dnepr Airlines, a Russian charter and airfreight specialist.
The cargo plane has been stuck at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) for the four and a half years that have elapsed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. It was stranded immediately upon its arrival in Canada after the nation closed its airspace to Russian aircraft.
