On 2 September 2026 Airbus and All Nippon Airways jointly announced that the first 19 cadets with no prior flight experience will begin training later this year.
The agreement was finalised at the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Summit (APATS) and the training will take place at Sevenair Academy in Ponte de Sor, Portugal, covering every stage up to licence issuance.
Airbus will deliver a unified ab‑initio programme for the ANA Group and partner airlines; Airbus’s Global Services Forecast projects a need for 633,000 new pilots worldwide over the next 20 years, 104,000 in Asia‑Pacific.
