Taiwan Tigerair held a launch ceremony at Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) on September 2, 2026, marking the inauguration of two new routes connecting Kaohsiung with Ishigaki and Komatsu in Japan.

The addition of the Ishigaki and Komatsu services increases the airline's routes departing from Kaohsiung from 12 to 14, with Japanese destinations expanding to 11. Taiwan Tigerair's Kaohsiung network also includes services to Seoul Gimpo, Jeju Island, and Da Nang.

Taiwan Tigerair Chairman Huang Shih-hui stated that routes from Taoyuan to Ishigaki and Komatsu are already operating stably. He noted that the new Kaohsiung services enhance convenience for southern Taiwan travelers and benefit Japanese visitors.

Huang is scheduled to board the inaugural flight to Komatsu on September 3 to attend local launch events and meet with Ishikawa Prefecture Governor Yamano Toshiyuki.
