Leonardo Helicopters, the rotorcraft division of the Italian aerospace and defense group, has appointed Stefano Villanti as its new Managing Director with immediate effect.
Before this appointment, Villanti, a former McKinsey consultant, held several leadership positions within Leonardo's aerospace division. He joined the company in 2015 as Senior Vice President at the International Government Business Unit and later became Senior Vice President of Sales, and since 2023, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales at the Helicopters Division.
Leonardo Helicopters delivered 182 rotorcraft in 2025, ranking second among Western helicopter makers in the turbine helicopter market, following Airbus Helicopters, with roughly between one fifth and one quarter of the market.
