The Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) of Taiwan announced on September 1, 2026, that passenger fuel surcharges for international flights operated by Taiwanese airlines will increase starting September 7, 2026. Under the new adjustment, the fuel surcharge for short-haul routes will rise to $32.50, while long-haul routes will increase to $84.50. The regulatory authority has instructed carriers to fully disclose this information to safeguard consumers.
According to CPC Corporation's announcement, international aviation fuel prices rose from $147.57 to $156.79 per barrel, shifting the pricing bracket from level 12 to level 13. This marks the second consecutive monthly adjustment, following an increase announced on August 3, 2026, which took effect on August 9, where short-haul and long-haul surcharges rose to $30 and $78 respectively.
