The Legislative Yuan approved the “Strengthening National Defense Autonomy and Unmanned Vehicle Industry Development Act” on 27 August, mandating a six‑year budget totalling NT$240 billion.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs is the competent authority, while defence‑related procurement falls under the Ministry of National Defense; the Executive Yuan intends to countersign the act on 3 September and include funds in this year’s supplementary budget, with an amendment to next year’s budget.
