Manchester Airport (MAN)s Group (MAG), which owns Manchester Airport, London Stansted Airport (STN), and East Midlands Airport (EMA), has claimed that hackers demanded a ransom during a "cyber security incident" on August 27, 2026.

According to MAG's statement, hackers accessed a "quantity of customer data" related to car park, lounge, and fast track bookings, and in-airport WIFI sign-ups, affecting approximately 8.7 million individuals across the three airports. On bank or payment details were not accessed.

MAG told the BBC that the demands were refused and that the hackers' identity was used. MAG confirmed that the incident had not resulted in any operational disruption and that passenger safety and aviation security had been compromised.
