According to a report by the aviation media outlet Simple Flying, a Cathay Pacific flight traveling from Hong Kong to London was intercepted by Hungarian fighter jets on July 4. The interception took place after the flight experienced a loss of communication during its route.
The report from Simple Flying noted that an incorrect radio frequency appears to have been the core issue behind the communication failure. Due to this loss of communication, the Cathay Pacific jet was intercepted by NATO fighter jets, with the radio frequency error identified as the central cause of the occurrence.
