STARLUX Airlines announced on August 27, 2026, the launch of its "STARLUX AIRSORAYAMA" art project, a unique collaboration with renowned Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. The project features two specially designed Airbus A350-1000 flagship aircraft, themed as "AIRSORAYAMA GOLD" and "AIRSORAYAMA SILVER" respectively. To celebrate the debut of these artistic aircraft, STARLUX Airlines has appointed Kōki,, the daughter of famous Japanese actor Takuya Kimura, as the official project ambassador.
According to a press release from STARLUX Airlines, Kōki, recently arrived at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and visited the airline's aircraft maintenance hangar to inspect the "AIRSORAYAMA SILVER" aircraft. During her visit, STARLUX Airlines Chairman K.W. Chang made a personal appearance to welcome the ambassador and guide her through the aircraft. Chang shared the conceptual journey of the AIRSORAYAMA project from its inception to final realization, highlighting how Sorayama's iconic metallic aesthetics and futuristic elements were seamlessly integrated with the corporate brand identity of STARLUX Airlines.
Reflecting on her experience, Kōki, expressed deep gratitude, noting that during the filming of the promotional video, she could only imagine the aesthetic impact of the project. Seeing the actual aircraft in person, she felt deeply moved and honored to be a part of a creation that combines art, engineering design, and aviation dreams.
According to AVWIRE historical records, the two flagship A350-1000 aircraft feature a 350-seat configuration, including four First Class seats, 40 Business Class seats, 36 Premium Economy seats, and 270 Economy Class seats. The first art plane, "AIRSORAYAMA SILVER" (registration B-58553), was delivered in July 2026 and completed its inaugural flight to Tokyo on July 12. The second aircraft, "AIRSORAYAMA GOLD" (registration B-58554), completed its delivery in France on August 14 and arrived at Taoyuan International Airport on August 16. The airline plans to deploy both art planes into regular commercial service starting October 1, 2026, on routes serving Tokyo, Phoenix, and Prague.
