According to reporting from Simple Flying, Australia's flag carrier Qantas has officially moved up its timeline for retiring the Airbus A380 superjumbo fleet by four years. Under the updated operational roadmap, the carrier plans for the first of these long-haul double-deck aircraft to exit its active fleet in 2028.
This adjustment builds on prior network fleet decisions made by the airline. Historical records show that Qantas scheduled its final Airbus A380 flight between Melbourne and Los Angeles for October 24, while opting to utilize Boeing 787-9 widebody aircraft for that route instead.
