Aerospace Global News reports that the first two of Taiwan's 66 Lockheed Martin F-16V fighters have departed for Taiwan. Citing Taiwan's Liberty Times, the report says the two F-16V Block 70 jets, serial numbers 6727 and 6728, transited through Hawaii and are currently in Guam.

The report says the two jets remain in Guam, awaiting favorable weather conditions to fly to Taiwan's Taitung Air Force Base. After arrival, they will immediately begin ground testing and conversion training.

According to the article, Lockheed Martin expects to deliver the remaining 63 fighters through 2027 and 2028. The report also notes Taiwan initially expected all 66 F-16s delivered by the end of 2026, but production ramp-up has caused delays.
