A US Army MH-60 Black Hawk helicopter assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment came down during a training flight near Denver, Colorado, on August 25, 2026. All four crew members aboard escaped injury during the event.
According to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, local authorities were notified shortly before 11:30 local time. The aircraft came down on the eastern flank of Thorodin Mountain, located north of Golden Gate Canyon State Park and approximately 25 miles west of Denver.
The US Army Special Operations Aviation Command stated in a message through the sheriff's office that it was aware of the aviation mishap involving four soldiers during routine training operations. Neither military officials nor local authorities have provided a cause for the occurrence.
